UC Davis - Remixed

What are we gonna do now?
Taking off his turban, they said, is this man a Jew?
'Cause they're working for the clampdown
They put up a poster saying we earn more than you!
When we're working for the clampdown

We will teach our twisted speech
To the young believers
We will train our blue-eyed men
To be young believers

The judge said five to ten-but I say double that again
I'm not working for the clampdown
No man born with a living soul
Can be working for the clampdown

Kick over the wall 'cause government's to fall
How can you refuse it?
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
D'you know that you can use it?

The voices in your head are calling
Stop wasting your time, there's nothing coming
Only a fool would think someone could save you
The men at the factory are old and cunning Y
ou don't owe nothing, so boy get runnin'
It's the best years of your life they want to steal

You grow up and you calm down
You're working for the clampdown
You start wearing the blue and brown
You're working for the clampdown

So you got someone to boss around
It makes you feel big now
You drift until you brutalize
You made your first kill now

In these days of evil presidentes
Working for the clampdown
But lately one or two has fully paid their due
For working for the clampdown

But ha! Gitalong! Gitalong!
And I've given away no secrets
Who's barmy now? -- The Clash, Clampdown
I want to once again be a citizen of the United States.
I am tired of being one of Goldman Sachs' serfs.

A Free Press?

Reporter: "I'm with the press! I'm with the press!"
Police: "Someone lock her up!!!"

Is this really okay with you?

Goldman Sachs... not so smart after all

Ouch baby!
Way to get get rolled up and beat to shit!!

I wonder what will happen when the Goldman folks realize that they're NOT the smartest in the room?

The New Freemasons

Le Monde makes extraordinary claim about Goldman Sachs.
Honestly, very hard to refute.

Lessig: Republic, Lost

Dilemming

Cynicism beyond all boundaries

I can just imagine the conversation in Mayor Bloomberg's 'War Room' in the last 48 hours....

Bloomberg (sounding both angry and panicked): "Damn it! What's going on with people? Now the newspapers are picking this up! I'm getting calls every hour from friends and donors at every bank and hedge fund in the tri-state fucking area!! We need to take back control of the story here people!!"

Ray Kelly (softly but firmly): "Sir... my big concern is that people are starting to notice that we have created a private army here in the guise of the NYPD. If people understand that, this is going to get much worse."

Bloomberg (with the whites now showing around his eyes): "Jesus Fucking Christ Ray! You told me NO-ONE would ever figure this out! You said we would be HEROES!! What the hell are we going to do?!?!"

Kelly (calmly and perhaps a little smugly): "Well Sir... there is this asshole we've been sitting on for about a year. Another wanna-be terrorist. We've been feeding him bullshit and he's probably got materials at this point that we can claim would be part of making some pipe bombs. We could always roll him up and claim that we've just arrested an America Al-Quaida terrorist who was mere days away from detonating bombs targeted at NY Officials and Police Officers...."

So the real question now becomes... which media organizations simply repeat the story, and which ones actually question it?

It will be nice to know which ones remain that can be trusted.

Update: and.... there we go! Entrapment mentioned. Yeah... this one is gonna get messy.

Update: and it starts to unravel. Turns out the reason the Feds were not involved was because twice during the 2 years (yes TWO YEARS) that NYPD had the guy under surveillance the FBI concluded that he was not a credible threat and lacked the "mental capacity to act on his own." So... how long until we hear the word 'entrapment?'

Update: we're starting to see the answers...

this is reality

‎"I want to be very clear in calling upon the Egyptian authorities to refrain from any violence against peaceful protestors. The people of Egypt have rights that are universal. That includes the right to peaceful assembly and association, the right to free speech, and the ability to determine their own destiny. These are human rights. And the United States will stand up for them everywhere." -- President Barack Obama Feb 2011

So now... a little find and replace...

I want to be very clear in calling upon the American authorities to refrain from any violence against peaceful protestors. The people of The United States have rights that are universal. That includes the right to peaceful assembly and association, the right to free speech, and the ability to determine their own destiny. These are human rights. And the United States will stand up for them everywhere.

Why do we have fewer rights in the opinion of our own government than citizens of a foreign country do?
